In the pursuit of providing quality service to each and everyone, I realize that boundaries must be attained and communicated early in the client/Real Estate Pro relationship. If you don't consider your time valuable, you will be working at all times for the sake of accommodating any and all customers, to include over zealous, impatient and/or super anxious customers and real estate professionals. It really comes down to courtesy, respect, self control and communication.
You can provide the very best service when you are always courteous and respectful. Create time-lines and strategies for success and be sure to communicate effectively your desire to serve along with specifics on how and when you work. Persistent text messages from clients at 10:30 p.m or later are not received as professional. Don't invite this activity nor condone or support it. Although I may be working well beyond 6 or 7 p.m. it's important not to encourage phone calls or text messages after reasonable evening hours. Advanced technology can put you in the position of facilitating requests and responding within seconds, however, there is a price. Remember to maintain structure and adhere to guidelines that demonstrate your professionalism at all times.
Communication is KING. Be sure to clearly state your plans, intentions on how you will communicate and serve your clients. It's equally important to know how they will contact you. Your expectations along with their's must be in a mutual alignment in order to sustain a cohesive and productive relationship. I've heard it said, "the customer is always right." However your time is valuable and you are the expert, therefore you must set the precedence for how you will work will everyone.
Make it a point to communicate effectively, utilize your time efficiently and serve others respectfully. You will be well on your way to providing Extra-ordinary Service.
Your Realtr Gurl,
Felicia Romano, REALTOR
